Nate Watson talks recent Maryland visit and more

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va - Four-star center Nate Watson made a recent visit to Maryland and is focused on a smaller group of schools.

One of the major stock risers this spring was Nate Watson. The DC area big man saw offers come pouring in and he continues to work hard on his game. With a workable school list, Watson continues to gather research on the schools interested in him.

“I think I played pretty well,” said Watson of his spring. “I am really liking how I am developing my game. Everybody is pushing me to work hard and I am doing that.”

When it comes to his recruitment Watson has a few schools he is still considering.

“I cut my list to Wake Forest, Maryland, Kansas, Providence, Xavier, Miami, NC State, and if North Carolina offers they will definitely be on the list,” said Watson.

He continued, “I took a visit to Maryland this week and I will make official visits in August.”

About his recent trip to College Park, Watson said, “I really liked that visit to Maryland. It was a really nice campus and they have a good coaching staff.”

When asked what appeals to him about the Terrapins program, Watson said, “Coach Bino (Ranson) and Coach (Mark) Turgeon have told me about their weight program which I really like and I just like everything about the program.”

While he doesn’t have any other visits set up, Watson does know one school he wants to see for sure.

“I know I definitely want to make an official visit to Miami,” said Watson.

About the Hurricanes, he said, “I really like the area, and a local guard Chris Lykes just committed there and I feel like that he is a real good player so I like that.”

Look for Watson to continue to play things out in July and then begin a thorough visit process after the summer.
