Point guard Isaiah Washington has followed up a very solid high school season with an even more impressive spring on the AAU circuit. Most recently Washington impressed at the NBPA Top 100 Camp, and now he has a big unofficial visit upcoming.
“I think the camp went really well,” said Washington. “I think I showcased my talents that I am one of the best pure point guards in the country.”
When it comes to his recruitment, Washington said, “Butler just recently called me, Minnesota, Providence, Seton Hall, Georgetown, New Mexico, and a couple of other schools.”
He continued, “June 21 I am going to Minnesota for an unofficial visit.”
Washington has known Minnesota assistant Kimani Young for a while, and this is a big trip for him.
“I like how they let their guards play,” said Washington. “I also have a good relationship with the coaches and I believe I would do well if I were to go there.”
Another school that has been recruiting Washington for a while is Seton Hall, and he likes the idea of following in the footsteps of another Isaiah who starred in the Big East.
“I love Seton Hall,” noted Washington. “I love the way they let their guards play. I am close with Isaiah Whitehead, and I try to model my game after him, so that would be good to follow him.”
For now Washington notes that he is open to all of the schools recruiting him, but that he doesn’t have a specific timeframe in mind for issuing a commitment.
