Marquette adds post player in 2017

Ikechuckwu Eke verbally committed to Marquette on Sunday.

Steve Wojciechowski picked up a 2017 committed on Sunday, as he added Ikechukwu Eke, per multiple sources.

Eke, a 6-foot-9 post player from Detroit (Mich.) University of Detroit Jesuit, officially visited Marquette June 9th through the 11th.

Prior to selecting Marquette, Eke also considered Xavier, Oregon, Pittsburgh and a host of other schools.

Playing for The Family in the Nike EYBL league, Eke, who is known for his mobility, athleticism and energy, averaged four points, four rebounds and a block a game.

Eke is Marquette's first pledge of the 2017 recruiting class. The Golden Eagles added three prospects -- Markus Howard, Sam Hauser and Brendan Bailey, in their 2016 class, as well as graduate transfer Katin Reinhardt.
