Arizona State and Mading part ways

Power forward Daniel Mading and Arizona State opted to go their separate ways on Wednesday.

Arizona State and Daniel Mading parted ways on Wednesday, a source close to the situation tells Scout.

Mading, a 6-foot-9 forward, committed to the Sun Devils in late December of 2015. At the time, Mading chose ASU over Florida, UConn, LSU and Kansas.

Mading, started his prep career in Florida at The Rock School, but played last season for Bobby Hurley's father at Jersey City (N.J.) St. Anthony.

With this news, Arizona State now has one pledge in the 2017 class. Four-star point guard Remy Martin committed to the Sun Devils two weeks ago.
