FIBA u17: No. 12 Gary Trent talks USA, recruiting

ZARAGOZA, Spain -- Gary Trent, one of the top guard prospects in the country, is averaging nearly 10 points a game in the FIBA u17 World Championships. Trent talked with Scout following a win over Turkey about the difference in playing in international competition, his game, plus UCLA, Kentucky, Minnesota and UCLA.

Five-star shooting guard Gary Trent has helped USA Basketball to wins over Turkey and Chinese Taipei in the FIBA u17 World Championships.

In the two wins, Trent is averaging 9.5 points, 3.5 steals and two rebounds a game. Known for his ability to shoot, Trent hasn't found his stroke from deep, as he's 0-for-6 from three, but he's been able to score at the basket and has made some nice plays off the dribble.

Trent is regarded as the No. 12 player in the 2017 recruiting class.
