Four-star wing Savion Flagg has been a major breakout performer recently. Flagg, who is one of the more versatile prospects in the country, proved himself during the Under Armour Association, and most recently at the NBPA Top 100 Camp.
“I feel like I played well,” said Flagg of the spring. “I showed my versatility and just tried to do everything I could to help my team win games.”
When it comes to his recruitment, Flagg said, “Things have picked up. I have offers from Texas A&M, Northwestern, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Creighton, Purdue, Wake Forest, and some SEC Schools.”
Texas A&M is located close to Flagg’s home, and it is a school that is very much on the radar for him.
“It is the school I have visited the most,” said Flagg. “So they stand out because I know them the best. They have a great campus and I fit in well there academically.”
A school that recently entered into the mix is Louisville. The Cardinals are intrigued with what they have seen from Flagg, and made sure to let him know they’d be watching during July.
“Louisville has called me,” said Flagg. “It was a really good conversation. They say that they really like my game, and I have interest in Louisville.”
One school that has been involved with Flagg for a while is Purdue. The Boilermakers dipped into Texas last year to nab Carsen Edwards, and they’re hoping to do the same with Flagg in the 2017 class.
“I like Purdue,” said Flagg. “Their coaching staff is great and it is a campus that I want to see. They say I’d fit in well with their style of play, so it is an intriguing option.”
In terms of when Flagg plans to make a decision, he said, “I am probably going to cut my list to five after July and verbally commit in October.”
