Texas shooter Trevor Moore is headed to Cincinnati

Cincinnati landed their first prospect in the 2017 class with the commitment of wing shooting specialist Trevor Moore.

When Mick Cronin took over at Cincinnati he made it clear that defense and toughness were going to be the hallmarks of his program. However recently Cronin has been moving more and more to finding skilled offensive guys, and he landed one of the best shooters in the state of Texas on Wednesday afternoon in Trevor Moore.

“I am truly blessed and honored to announce that I will further my education and basketball career at the University of Cincinnati,” said Moore.

Moore is known for his ability to really shoot the basketball. In Under Armour play Moore is 35-93 from beyond the arc. In fact catching and shooting is what he almost does exclusively. Moore has only attempted 13 two point attempts and 25 free throws in 11 games on the Under Armour Association.

At near 6-foot-5 with long arms, Moore is able to shoot over defenders, and is also very good at utilizing a pump fake to keep defenders honest. So his shooting will clearly be the focus going forward, and will be what Cincinnati will try and utilize when he gets to campus.

This is the first commitment for the Bearcats in the class of 2017. The Bearcats are hoping to add at least one more perimeter prospect and another big in this class.
