Versatile wing Elias Harden is one of the better prospects in the south. Running with Game Elite, Harden showed well for himself at the adidas Gauntlet Finale, and continued his strong run of things since the spring.
“I picked up new interest in April, and from there things just kept getting better, and I raised my stock,” said Harden of his summer. “I continued to improve on my scoring and my defense, so things have been good.”
On the recruiting side of things Harden has schools such as Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Cincinnati, Xavier, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, and Maryland after him.
Recently Harden made unofficial visits to Georgia, Xavier, and Cincinnati.
About the trip to Georgia, Harden said, “It was a real good visit. I got to speak a lot with Coach (Mark) Fox and Coach (Jonas) Hayes. They think I could be a good fit for their school and play a lot my freshman year.”
He continued about the visit to Athens, “It was a real nice campus. I saw the practice facility and the weight room. They are renovating the gym so I didn’t go in there, but it is a nice facility.”
Xavier also made an impression on Harden during his visit, and the Musketeers made it clear he was a priority for them.
“That was a real good visit,” said Harden of the visit. “Coach (Chris) Mack and Coach (Mike) Pegues are real good guys. They told me they would be here watching all of my games so that was real nice to hear.”
He continued about the trip, “The facilities were real good. I saw the court and the practice facility. Also the locker room was real good.”
About Cincinnati, Harden said, “I didn’t get to see the facility, but I saw the locker room which they said they are redoing. They also said the arena would be new when I would get there, so that is good.”
According to Harden another unofficial visit could be coming soon after July.
“I might make one more unofficial to Florida,” said Harden.
About the Gators, he said, “I like Coach (Mike) White and Coach (Jordan) Mincy. They are recruiting me very hard. They already have a commitment from De’Aundre who I know well, so I think it could be a good fit.”
When it comes to the next step in his recruitment, Harden said, “I could be cutting down my list soon, and from there I will make a decision when the time is right.”
