"The relationship I have with coach Kevin Norris," Douglas said when asked about his decision to go to UCF. "He has been recruiting me from USC since 10th grade and when he made the jump to UCF he never stopped."
"Also the relationship I have come to build with Johnny Dawkins," he added. "Everything is new at the school as well. As far as coaching jobs they have a great staff they have assemble together. The environment is great. I couldn't ask for a better one in Orlando. I could just feel that it was the right place for me to go. Also they believe in me more than anybody. It's a great conference and in the next few years were gonna blow up."
Douglas also considered interest from West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Rutgers and Maryland.
Douglas, a three-star recruit out of Fairfax (Va.) Paul IV, is regarded as the No. 28 power forward in the 2017 class.
Douglas is the second 2017 prospect to opt for UCF. Georgia native Daniel Lewis is also a 2017 pledge.
