Class of 2019 standout Scottie Lewis continued his tremendous summer with a fantastic showing at the Under Armour Finals on Thursday. The highly athletic Lewis got a lot done for Team Rio, and at times put his team on his back.
At 6-foot-6 with very long arms and elite athleticism, Lewis has all the physical tools you could want in a wing long term. Now however he is taking his game to a whole different level with how his skill is developing.
At the Steph Curry Select Camp Lewis was very impressive, and he transitioned that to an impressive showing at the Under Armour All-American Camp, and now at the Under Armour Finals he has been dominant.
One thing that has really stood out is Lewis’ improved ability to knockdown shots. He is looking much better and much more confident shooting from the outside, and that has led to a lot more production. By making those shots, it opened up more opportunities to drive, which made Lewis nearly impossible to guard on Thursday.
It is still very early in the process for Lewis, but already college coaches are coming out in droves. St. John’s boss Chris Mullin as well as Seton Hall’s Kevin Willard and Xavier’s Chris Mack were all there. Also assistants from Villanova, Florida, Rutgers, Maryland, and others were courtside to watch Lewis.
Lewis has already made visits to St. John’s, Villanova, and Maryland. All of those schools have offered scholarships, and have made it clear that Lewis is going to be a top priority going forward.
