Combo guard Trent Frazier has made a home at the Suwanee Sports Academy over the past few years. Frazier, who is a dynamic 6-foot-1 scorer, again on Saturday afternoon was phenomenal on his way to 30 points leading his team to a win.
“We are doing pretty well so far,” said Frazier of July. “This is my first time playing with the team. I love it, and hopefully we continue to win.”
On the recruiting trail several schools are watching, but one school definitely has the lead.
“Illinois, Seton Hall, Cincinnati, Maryland, Old Dominion, Rhode Island and a few other schools have hopped on,” noted Frazier.
When it comes to a leader, Frazier said, “Illinois right now is showing me a lot of love. Me and Coach (John) Groce have built an excellent relationship and it is awesome. He loves me as a player, and it shows that he wants me. Right now Illinois is on top.”
At this point the Illini appear to have a huge advantage, and soon it looks like Frazier will make his way to campus.
“I am making an official visit out there in August,” said Frazier. “I don’t know exactly when yet, but it will be finalized soon.”
When asked what it will take for a school to land his commitment, Frazier said, “I am just looking for the school that fits me and a place where I am really wanted.”
At the moment all signs point to Frazier heading north to the Big Ten, now the question is will the Illini be able to hold off impending challengers as the calendar gets ready to flip to August.
