For those of us who watched the late Manute Bol play in the NBA, it doesn't take long to pick out his son on the floor. At 6'10 and 185 pounds, the family resemblance is striking. However, family resemblance is where the comparisons end.
Bol Bol is a lean, graceful player with good feet, a soft touch (with either hand), legitimate range from outside, and a solid handle for a player of his dimensions. Bol is more Dirk Nowitzki than his father at this point.
Bol is comfortable on the perimeter on offense or defense. He is a shot blocking menace anywhere on the floor and not just in the paint as a rim protector. Bol moves his feet well enough to harass outside shooters, yet still has the recovery quickness to block a shot from behind if a smaller player drives past him.
His outside shot helps set up his drive to the basket. He has a solid basketball IQ and good court vision. As we say at Scout “he’s 5-Stars for a reason”.
Just an upcoming junior at Bishop Miege in Kansas, Bol has a bright future ahead of him as he continues to improve on his already impressive game.
