Major offers continue to come through for Dwayne Cohill

Dwayne Cohill finished out a huge July with a win at the adidas Summer Championships, and the Ohio native had a huge swarm of coaches following him throughout the month.

Four-star combo guard Dwayne Cohill had a tremendous July running with the Ohio Basketball Club. Cohill and OBC came home with the addias Summer Championships title at the 16 and under level, and in the process he was one of the top players in his age group.

“As a team we all played for one another and had fun,” said Cohill of July. “Everybody played great during July and we only lost one game. We just played phenomenal and we weren’t going to let any team beat us when it came down to crunch time.”

About his individual play, Cohill said, “During July I think from the first tournament to this last one everything improved. My jump shot improved, and I felt more comfortable as a point guard. Everything from running a team to my handle, it all just felt better.”

On the sidelines during his games coaches were present every step of the way, and Cohill says he has a long list of schools after him.

“I’ve been talking to Ohio State, Penn State, UNLV, Michigan State, Iowa, Xavier, Michigan, West Virginia, just a lot of the big time schools,” said Cohill.

Over the past several months Ohio State has made Cohill a major priority and has really turned up the heat in this recruitment.

About the Buckeyes, Cohill said, “Growing up an Ohio kid I like it. That is a school you always want to go to as a kid. Also now that I have the offer I like it a lot. I have fallen in love with the campus, and they keep stressing that they want the Ohio guys to bring to a title back to Ohio State.”

Another school that has been heavily involved with Cohill is West Virginia.

When it comes to his interest in the Mountaineers, Cohill said, “Coach (Bob) Huggins would be a great guy to play for. He helps gets his guys to the league, and he just can do it all. Also it is one of the best conferences to play in, and overall he is a great guy he runs a great program.”

Also the Michigan Wolverines were a major presence at his games, and Cohill says he thinks things are picking up with them as well.

“Coach (John) Beilein was at all of our games to finish out July,” noted Cohill. “I talk to Coach (Saddi) Washington a lot. Right now I am not sure, but I think I am very high on their list right now.”

For now Cohill says he is in the information gathering stage of his recruitment, and he doesn’t have any timeline for a college decision.
