Washington got a commitment from a high upside forward

Washington lands another piece to what is becoming a very impressive recruiting class.

Lorenzo Romar and company added yet another piece to their 2017 recruiting class on Friday. The Washington prioritized Mamoudou Diarra during the month of July and now he has been added to the commit column after making his choice.

"Mamoudou has committed to Washington," confirmed Gateway Basketball Club coach Scott Schroepper.

Diarra is a 6-foot-9 power forward who has long arms, good athleticism, and he is just now scratching the surface of how good he can be. A lot of schools came in to look at Diarra during the month of July, but in the end it was Washington that pushed the hardest.

During adidas Gauntlet play in Vegas, Diarra averaged 15.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game to finish out the summer.

Of course Michael Porter headlines the class for the Huskies, and now with Diarra and fellow three-star Blake Harris are with four-star local wing Jaylen Nowell to put together one of the best classes in the country so far.
