Justin Smith is down to seven schools

Seven schools remain in the mix for highly athletic combo forward Justin Smith who hails from the greater Chicago area.

Four-star forward Justin Smith was one of the more productive players in the class from the state of Illinois this spring and summer. Running with the Mac Irvin Fire, Smith had a tremendous AAU season, and now he is doing to seven schools.

In the end Smith had a great summer and numerous schools threw their name in the mix, but now only six remain. Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Stanford, Villanova, Wisconsin, and Xavier remain as the schools still on Smith’s list.

Smith, who is a tremendous athlete, brings versatility on both ends of the floor. Defensively he is more than capable of guarding wings and power forwards, while on offense he can easily play both forward spots.

Throughout his recruitment Smith has maintained that he wants to make official visits to the schools on his list. To this point Smith has been to places like Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Xavier but he wants to get the full official visit tour.

Also Smith is a tremendous student, and has repeatedly said that academics are going to be a huge part of his decision making process.

Look for a decision in the fall from Smith following a visit tour in which he seems numerous campuses, and figures what is the best fit for him basketball wise as well as academically.
