Four-star guard Marcus Garrett commits to Kansas

Kansas got on the board in the 2017 class with the addition of guard Marcus Garrett.

Four-star guard Marcus Garrett verbally committed to Bill Self, Kansas late Monday evening, a source told Scout.

Garrett, of Dallas (Tex.) Skyline, selected the Jayhawks over significant interest from Baylor, Oregon and a host of other high major schools.

Although not ranked at the moment, Garrett is due a bump into Scout's 2017 top 100 after a strong summer playing with Team Swaghouse.

During July, specifically at the Great American Shootout, Garrett impressed with his ability to play on and off the ball. Garrett has a good feel for the game and is a talented passer with good vision. Garrett is also a multi-positional defender, who possesses good instincts and ability on that end of the floor.

Garrett is Kansas' first verbal pledge of the 2017 recruiting class.
