Giles Sifting Through School List

C.J. Giles is looking strongly at slightly more than a handful of schools. He's got one visit possibly that might catch a few off guard, other than that its business as usual for this Top 100 prospect.

Travis DeCuire was recently hired as an assistant coach at Old Dominion. So? Well, DeCuire used to coach C.J. Giles in AAU competition and Giles hasn't forgotten him. It's within the realm of possibility that Giles takes an early September trip to Norfolk, though highly unlikely the Monarchs land him.

Currently, Kansas, Miami, Southern Cal, Arizona and possibly UCLA – in that order – are on his list of potential programs.

At this point, he doesn't have any official visits set up.

Giles' summer was a productive one. He's been a little under radar and prior to July, wasn't a frequenter on the AAU scene. However, a big month with Rotary Select which included a deep run in Vegas did wonders for his stock.

Skilled and blessed with size, Giles proved his worth as a Top 100 player and high-major prospect. As always, kids learn a lesson or two from a month on the circuit. "I've got to get stronger if I'm playing against Dwight Howard. I'm relaxing this week and then I'm gonna start lifting next with my coach."

Giles has a few criteria for selecting a school and one of them is actually very astute." The most important thing is, well, I got a couple. I want a school where I'll get quality playing time my freshman year but I want an older guy there would could teach me some things."
