Iowa State landed a big pledge from Terrence Lewis

The decision is in for four-star wing Terrence Lewis who is headed to the Big XII to play for Iowa State.

The Iowa State Cyclones and Head Coach Steve Prohm got tremendous news on Tuesday afternoon. That is when highly athletic forward Terrence Lewis decided to select the school over numerous other offers.

Iowa State seemingly began to separate themselves from the pack during the spring when they made him a clear priority. Lewis made several visits to the Ames campus, and he always seemed to come away impressed.

Following an unofficial visit to the school over the weekend Lewis saw all that he needed to see. He set up a press conference for Tuesday, and made his announcement official.

About the decision to choose Iowa State, Lewis said, “They have shown me a lot of love and supported me the entire time. They are great guys, and I just felt lie it was the right thing to do to go to a place that has supported you from the beginning.”

Lewis chose Iowa State over a final group of Illinois, Marquette, and UNLV.

One thing that separated Iowa State from the field was Lewis’ relationship with Head Coach Steve Prohm.

“Coach Prohm is a great guy,” said Lewis. “He has been honest with me and we have talked a lot. I think he is a great coach and someone who I will have a good time playing for in college.”

This is the first commitment for Iowa State in the 2017 class. Lewis is expected to be the first member of a class that could grow quite a bit over the next few months.
