North Carolina native Justyn Hamilton is starting to dive into the recruiting process. The 6-foot-8, 195-pound forward, has garnered interest from the likes of DePaul, Temple, Georgia, South Carolina, Clemson and Connecticut.
“It's going great,” Hamilton said of the recruiting process. “I'm taking two officials in September to DePaul and Temple. I'm starting to hear from some other schools that were talking to me before.”
Hamilton is slated to visit DePaul first. He’ll begin his official visit with the Blue Demons on September 8th.
“It's a different conference than my other schools,” Hamilton said about DePaul. “It's in Chicago, so it would be nice to get out of Charlotte and travel somewhere else. [They have a] great coaching staff and team. I like their style of play and I could definitely fit in with how they play.”
Hamilton will then take a weekend off the road, before visiting Temple officially on September 22nd.
“Temple is one of the winningest schools in the NCAA,” Hamilton said. “[The] coaching staff knows what to do to be successful. I like how the team works hard. [They’re] also out of Charlotte, which would be a new experience for me.”
Hamilton told Scout he hasn’t talked to the other four schools about a potential official visit, but that it’s not out of the question. In terms of a timetable on a college choice, Hamilton said he’ll know more after his two visits.
“After my visits I will know where I am at with my decision,” he said.
