Only five schools remain for 2017 four-star prospect Kimani Lawrence, he tells Scout. Lawrence, a 6-foot-6 wing out of New Hampton (N.H.) Prep, is now down to Texas, USC, Pittsburgh, Florida and Arizona State.
http://www.scout.com/player/185175-kimani-lawrence Lawrence has taken recent unofficial visits to Arizona State and USC. His trip to ASU was on August 12th and 13th.
“It was good,” he said of his trip to ASU. “I enjoyed it. I liked the coaching staff a lot. Even the managers were cool. I thought we really clicked. It was a real good experience. Their roster situation, there’s a lot of opportunity for a lot of playing time.”
Lawrence then slid over to Los Angeles to check out USC on August 14th and 15th.
“It was good too,” he said about USC. “I like their coaching staff. Coach [Andy] Enfield, they focus a lot on skill development and the assistant coaches they do a lot of work and training with NBA players. Coach Enfield is a good shooting coach, and they really focus on skill development, so I think that would be big.”
Now, Lawrence will take official visits. He will tip things off with a return visit to ASU, who he will see the weekend of September 24th. The very next weekend, he’ll see USC (Oct. 1) again. The next three consecutive weekends, Lawrence will see Pittsburgh (Oct. 8), Florida (Oct. 15th) and Texas (Oct. 21).
Although he’s set up visits and taken multiple trips to two schools, Lawrence hasn’t set a timetable on making his college choice.
“It just depends on how I’m feeling,” Lawrence said. “I’m not trying to rush into anything. If I’m feeling good about the school that I want to go to, then I’ll commit during the first period.”
