Five-star 2018 PG Brandon Williams will take fall visits

The Class of 2018's 26th ranked prospect, five-star point guard Brandon Williams, will take four unofficial visits this fall.

Brandon Williams, Scout’s 26th ranked 2018 prospect, is set to take a handful of unofficial visits this fall.

The 6-foot-1, 165-pound point guard from Encino (Calif.) Crespi will unofficially visit Nevada on Sep. 24, Kansas on Oct. 1, Connecticut on Oct. 7 and Arizona on Oct. 14.

Williams broke down what he likes about each program heading into those visits.

Nevada: “They just offered me so I’m getting to know them. I’m really close with Yanni (Hufnagel) and their players. I know Devearl (Ramsey) and Josh (Hart). I like the chemistry I have with the players and coaches.”

Kansas: “It’s one of the bluebloods so when I go there I’m going to be really appreciative. There is just something about Kansas with their tradition and history and what they’ve done in the past.”

UConn: “They seem to put point guards in the league year after year so it’s something I have to look into. I’m going to go there and ask them questions and look at campus and watch practice.”

Arizona: “That’s one of my dream schools and every time I go to their campus I have a great feeling. I have a great relationship with a lot of their players and coaches and I feel like it’s mutual.”

While Williams had initial plans to wait it out before making a decision, that’s no longer necessarily the case.

“I could commit at any time,” he said. “I don’t know right now. My tentative plan was Nov. 22, 2017 but as of now I think that’s changed. It could happen tomorrow, next week or next month; it all depends on my family and what’s best for me.”
