Alabama hosts key targets
Coach Avery Johnson and the Alabama Crimson Tide are having an absolutely enormous visit weekend. Two five-star perimeter players will be making their way to Tuscaloosa for official visits. Top Alabama target Collin Sexton as well as versatile five-star Troy Brown will be on campus.
Brown is one of the most naturally talented players in the class. He is capable of playing point guard as well as on the wing. Also his size and athleticism making him a versatile defensive player. Sexton is as elite of a scorer as there is in the class. He is a scoring point guard who can also play off the ball.
Alabama is considered the leader for Sexton, but it is worth noting Kansas has an in-home visit with him today. Brown also recently visited Ohio State, with Oregon, Kansas, and Georgetown also set to get visits.
Having both of these elite targets is an impressive weekend for Johnson and his staff.
Illinois looks to future
John Groce and the Illinois Illini have a huge weekend as well. The Fighting Illini are bringing in most of their loaded class to help host five-star small forward Kris Wilkes. Wilkes is making his first official visit of five, and the Illini are going to take their swing. Joining Wilkes on campus will be five-star center Jeremiah Tilmon, four-star guard DaMonte Williams, and three-star wing Javon Pickett.
Illinois already has a top 10 class, and they are going big game hunting with Wilkes. Wilkes seems set to take his visits and go through an entire process, but getting him on campus puts the Illini right there in the mix and allows them to make a key impression on the ultra talented forward.
Expect Wilkes to also go see Indiana, UCLA, Xavier, and Connecticut before making a final decision.
Florida has big talent arriving
The Florida Gators are hosting a key weekend. Florida has loaded up on the perimeter with a pair of four-star pledges. Now they are trying to add to their frontcourt. Four-star power forward Lance Thomas and three-star center Xavier Tillman are making their way to campus. Thomas is a skilled and athletic player who can step out and shoot while Tillman is a rugged below the rim big who knows how to score and rebound and plays with a tremendous motor.
Thomas visits Miami next week, while Tillman has already made a visit to Purdue, and will visit Michigan State and Marquette in the future.
While those two are big, also the Gators are hosting 2019 prospects Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antoine. The two New Jersey products are elite level players who have a ton of interest in the Gators. Look for Florida to be involved with Lewis and Antoine for a long time to come as these two continue to move through the recruiting process.
