No. 81 D'Shawn Schwartz commits to Colorado

Colorado picked up their second big pledge of the day as top target and in-state recruit D'Shawn Schwartz committed to the Buffaloes.

Saturday was a big day for Tad Boyle and his staff at Colorado.

In-state target and Scout's No. 81 D'shawn Schwartz informed Scout that he verbally committed to the Buffaloes during his official visit.

"They've been recruiting me the longest," Schwartz said. "I had a great relationship with all of the coaches. It was clear that it was the best decision."

Schwartz, a standout at Colorado Springs (Colo.) Sand Creek, picked Colorado over Butler, who he officially visited, and Memphis.

Schwartz is regarded as the No. 17 small forward in the 2017 class. Scout analyst Josh Gershon thinks the 6-foot-6 wing could have a big impact at Colorado.

"Schwartz is a versatile forward who has gone from completely off the radar to a national name over the last year and a half," Gershon said. "He's got good size and decent length, can knock down shots, is a good passer and rebounder. He should be a very good player for Colorado."

The pledge is Colorado's second big one of the day, as four-star wing Tyler Bey opted for Colorado just two hours earlier.
