Kansas State went to New England to land their latest commmitment

Kansas State dipped into the state of Connecticut to come down with their latest pledge in the class of 2017.

In his time at Kansas State, Bruce Weber has shown he is willing to go all over the country to recruit. He doesn't like to limit himself at all geographically, and Weber showed that again on Sunday as he reeled in a pledge from Mike McGuirl out of the state of Connecticut.

At this best McGuirl is a kid who can really hit shots from deep. During the summer playing with the Connecticut Basketball Club on the Under Armour circuit, McGuirl averaged 11.1 points per game and shot a blistering 45 percent from beyond the arc.

McGuirl announced his commitment saying, "I am thankful and blessed to say I'll be accepting a full scholarship and will be attending Kansas State University to further my basketball career and more importantly my education."

Also in the mix for McGuirl was Duquesne, St. Bonaventure, George Mason, Boston University, and others.

This is the first commitment for Kansas State in the class of 2017.
