Four-star wing Josh Anderson commits to Western Kentucky

Top 50 prospect Josh Anderson verbally committed to Rick Stansbury and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

Four-star wing Josh Anderson verbally committed to Western Kentucky on Tuesday, according to Baton Rouge (La.) Madison Prep coach Jeff Jones.

"He wanted to go up there and do something a little different," Jones told Scout.

Western Kentucky assistants Quannas White and Shammond Williams have ties to Louisiana and they recruited him while at Tulane.

"Quannas White is from Baton Rouge and Shammond was recruitng him at Tualne," Jones said. "They brought it to the table. He met coach [Rick] Stansury, took an official visit and loved the visit. He loves the opportunity for him and Mitchell Robinson to play together."

"Really Quannas has known the kid forever," he added. "He felt a connection with Quannas. It's kind of like a home away from away."

Anderson is regarded as the No. 50 overall prospect and the No. 12 shooting guard in the 2017 class.

The pledges gives Stansbury a pair of pledges in the 2017 class. Anderson joins top 10 prospect Mitchell Robinson and the class ranks as a top 10 recruiting class.
