Clemson gets commitment from four-star power forward Aamir Simms

Four-star Aamir Simms became the second 2017 prospect to commit to Clemson. Simms selected the Tigers over VCU, Miami and Pittsburgh.

Brad Brownell added a key recruit to his 2017 recruiting class.

Four-star power forward Aamir Simms verbally committed to Clemson during a visit with the Tigers staff at St. George (Va.) Blue Ridge School on Thursday.

Simms had been leaning that direction since taking his official visit to Clemson the weekend of September 10th.

Simms also took an official visit to VCU and was strongly considering Miami, Pittsburgh and a host of other schools.

A four-star recruit, Simms built a strong reputation this spring and summer playing for Team Loaded. Simms, who's stands 6-foot-8, is known as an energy guy that does a good job of rebounding on both ends of the floor. Simms is regarded as the No. 14 power forward prospect.

With the addition of Simms, Clemson now has a pair of recruits in 2017. Simms joins forward Malik William to make up their current class.
