Kenny Wooten receives LOI release from Nevada, offers piling quickly

Nevada signee Kenny Wooten has received a release from his Letter of Intent and offers are quickly piling up for the athletic 2017 post.

One of the West Coast’s most athletic posts in 2017 has reopened his recruitment.

Kenneth Wooten, a 6-foot-8, 205-pound center originally from Manteca (Calif.), signed with Nevada in 2016.

However, Wooten transferred to Las Vegas Trinity International and reclassified to 2017. After spending several months contemplating his commitment, Wooten asked for a release from his Letter of Intent.

“I’ve been released from my NLI,” Wooten told Scout.

It hasn’t taken long for Wooten’s second recruitment to pick up. He listed offers from Arizona State, Oregon State, San Diego State, USC, San Jose State, Washington State, Fresno State, Nevada, UNLV, Kansas State, Cal, Utah and UTEP.

With so many offers already in hand so quickly, Wooten isn’t ready to sort through them and line up any visits.

“I’m not planning any visits until after December,” Wooten said.

While no offers have been set up, Wooten says the one he knows he’ll be taking is to USC.

“I love the environment,” Wooten said of USC. “I’m from Los Angeles so it would be great to reunite. Also the school has always been my dream [school] since Love & Basketball.”

Wooten is Scout’s 25th ranked center in the 2017 class.
