At The Workout put on by Ed Hall, one of the clear top performers was Elijah Weaver. A big point guard with size and athleticism, Weaver showed big time playmaking ability, and college coaches continue to take close notice of what he brings to the floor.
This summer Weaver was very impressive with Team Breakdown, and he feels things went well.
“I feel that the summer went great,” said Weaver. “There are things I am trying to improve on like my mid-range jumper. Overall the summer went great.”
On the recruiting trail several schools have been by to see him.
“A couple coaches came in,” noted Weaver. “I got a recent offer from Boston College, Villanova offered, Louisville, and a couple of other schools.”
Most recently Weaver made an unofficial visit to Villanova, and the Wildcats definitely made an impression.
“I enjoyed myself a lot there,” said Weaver. “They told me I could come in and play right away if I went there, and I liked the trip a lot.”
He continued about the visit, “I think I would fit in really well at Villanova. I like the program and their style of play. I think it just fits me perfectly.”
Another school that is putting in a lot of effort is Louisville. The Cardinals have a connection to Weaver through his former high school coach, and he likes the school a lot.
“I fit in well with their playing style,” said Weaver of Louisville. “It is up tempo and I just think I’d fit in perfectly there.”
When it comes to what he is generally looking for in a school, Weaver said, “I am just looking for a school where I get along well with the coaches and where I will fit in with the players and have a good career.”
