Skilled big is headed to the Big XII

Bruce Weber added to his 2017 class on Monday by nabbing big man Levi Stockard.

For the second time in as many years, the Kansas State Wildcats dipped into the St. Louis area and nabbed a player over several other high-major schools. The Wildcats got the news on Monday as three-star post Levi Stockard picked the Wildcats.

"I appreciate every school that has recruited and shown interest in me, with that said I will be attending Kansas State University," announced Stockard.

At different points throughout the process Stockard had considered offers from Marquette, Xavier, and Cincinnati to go along with the Wildcats. Still it was Kansas State that was most consistent and put in the most work with the big man.

A big man with good hands and the ability to score on the low block, Stockard some come in right away and press for playing time in Manhattan. Stockard has fairly nimble feet and a pretty good idea of what he is doing on the court.

Now Stockard is a little undersized, and definitely needs to continue to work on his lateral movement so that he'd be able to guard in ball screen situations. So strength and conditioning will be a key, but he does have some natural talent to score the basketball.

This is the third commitment for Bruce Weber and his staff in 2017. Stockard joins Nigel Shadd and Mike McGuirl in the Wildcats class of 2017 haul.
