Things have picked up recently for Loyola-Chicago on the recruiting trail. The program landed arguably its biggest recruit on Tuesday evening as local product Christian Negron opted to stay home and select the Ramblers program.
"After talking to the people whose opinions matter most to me, I feel I have made the best decision for my future academically as well as in basketball," said Negron. "I will continue my education and my basketball career at Loyola University."
By landing Negron, Loyola will have one of the more athletic and higher motor power forwards in the country. Negron is a top notch rebounder with a near 7-foot wing span.
Negron isn't refined on the offensive end, and he is a bit undersized, but in the Missouri Valley he has the chance to be a tremendous player.
Along with Loyola, UAB, DePaul, and Oregon State also took long looks at Negron, but he decided to stay close to home.
