The 7-foot, 250-pound center from San Mateo (Calif.) JSerra committed to the Beavers on Saturday following an unofficial visit to campus.
"It was the best fit for me," Wilson told Scout. "Everything came together and it was the best fit for my future. From the coaching staff to guys on the team to how I fit into the offense and school, it's the best place for me."
Wilson's relationship with Oregon State's coaching staff played a big role in his decision.
"It was their core values and what they stand for," said Wilson. "The coaching staff is really incredible. They were never fake or just using kind words to draw you in, it was very real. Nothing against the other coaches recruiting me but it was just different there."
Wilson is Scout's 91st ranked prospect in 2018 and currently the top center prospect on the west in the class. He gives the Beavers another talented prospect who should help them continue to compete at a high level in the Pac-12.
"I'm going to work my butt off and see how much playing time I can get there," Wilson said. "I have confidence that we'll be Pac-12 contenders and make the tournament just about every year. We'll keep that trend they started last year.
"We are going to make sure Oregon State has an impact on college basketball."
