"I just built a great relationship with coach [Jim Larrañaga] and that was the school that I really saw myself best fitting in at," Gak said.
Gak, a native of Australia, took his official visit to Miami the weekend of September 24th. Kansas and Florida were also under consideration by Gak.
Why was Miami such a good fit for the 6-foot-10 forward??
"From watching their games last year and some of their practices this year, I really liked how they utilize their forwards and the freedom they have," Gak explained.
Gak is the third member of the 2017 to commit to the Hurricanes. Gak joins the No. 93 overall recruit and four-star prospect Sam Waardenburg to make up their current class.
Gak, a three-star prospect, ranks as the No. 20 power forward in the 2017 class.
Gak made the move to the United States prior to last season and landed at Blairstown (N.J.) Blair Academy. He spent the spring and summer playing for the PSA Cardinals on the Nike EYBL circuit.
