Stanford went to Germany to pick up their latest basketball commitment.
On Tuesday, Oscar Da Slilva, a 6-foot-9 versatile forward, verbally committed to Jerod Haase and his staff.
"Stanford is a place where I wanna chase my dreams on and off the court and where I'm confident I will flourish in either one," Da Silva, a 2017 prospect, said.
Da Silva, 18, took an official visit to Stanford on October 14th and 15th. Although he also considered some Ivy League schools, Da Silva ultimately chose Stanford over California, who he visited on October 12th and 13th.
Da Silva played for Germany’s U18 team in the Albert Schweitzer Tournament in early April. Through seven games, Da Silva averaged seven points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.7 blocks.
Stanford now holds a pair of senior pledges, as Da Silva joins Scout’s No. 71 overall prospect Kezie Okpala to make up their current recruiting class.
