Zach Kent commits to Tennessee

Rick Barnes added his first pledge of the 2017 recruiting class on Sunday, as Zach Kent opted for the Volunteers.

2017 recruit Zach Kent just verbally committed to Tennessee, he tells Scout.

"I loved my visit, the practice, the staff, and the players," Kent said. "I want to play with those guys. In order for me to achieve what I want UT is were I need and want to be."

Kent, a 6-foot-9 post player, took an official visit to Tennessee the weekend of October 15th. Kent had a wide range of college interest, but picked Rick Barnes' program over Northwestern.

The Blairstown (N.J.) Blair Academy standout is regarded as a three-star prospect Scout.

"I can be a guy that can take pressure off the the other guys with my skill set," Kent said." I can do whatever they need me to do whether its defense shooting, or passing from the top."

Kent marks the first pledge of the 2017 class for the Volunteers.
