Four-star center Garrison Brooks makes pledge

Four-star center Garrison Brooks made his college choice on Signing Day.

2017 recruit Garrison Brooks verbally committed to Mississippi State at a press conference at his highs school on Wednesday, the opening day of the first signing period.

Brooks, a 6-foot-10, 220-pound center, picked MSU over strong interest from North Carolina, who he officially visited this past weekend.

Brooks' father, George, is an assistant at Mississippi State.

A standout at Auburn (Ala.) High, Brooks is regarded as a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 24 center in the 2017 class.

With the pledge from Brooks, Mississippi State moves to No. 11 in Scout's 2017 class rankings. The Bulldogs also hold pledges from five-star guard Nick Weatherspoon and three-star forward KeyShawn Feazel.
