Five-star point guard Collin Sexton commits to Alabama

Collin Sexton, Scout's No. 9 overall prospect, made a verbal pledge to Alabama on the second day of the signing period.

Five-star guard Collin Sexton verbally committed to Alabama on Thursday.

Sexton picked the Crimson Tide over Kansas, NC State, Oklahoma State, Georgia and Georgia Tech. Sexton took his official visit to Alabama the weekend of September 9th.

Sexton emerged last December and used the spring and summer to catapult his stock. Sexton won a Gold Medal with USA Basketball's U17 team in the FIBA World Championships. Sexton averaged 17 points, 4.2 assists and 4.0 rebounds a game in the event.

During AAU ball, Sexton played for the Southern Stampede and led the Nike EYBL in scoring with 31.7 points through 16 games.

Sexton is ranked as the No. 2 point guard and No. 9 overall player in the 2017 recruiting class.

To go with Sexton, Alabama also holds commitments from Alex Reese and Herb Jones. The Crimson Tide is also considered the favorite for John Petty, who will decide later this evening.
