No. 4 Wendell Carter just committed to Duke

Scout's No. 4 prospect, Wendell Carter, made a committed to Duke on Wednesday.

Five-star center Wendell Carter verbally committed to Duke on Wednesday.

Carter, a standout at Atlanta (Ga.) Pace Academy, selected the Blue Devils over Harvard, Georgia Tech and Georgia. 


Carter took his official visit to Duke the weekend of October 22nd. He also took official visits to Harvard and Georgia Tech. 

Over the summer, Carter won a Gold Medal playing on USA Basketball's u17 team in the FIBA World Championship. Carter averaged 10.1 points and 7.4 rebounds a game during the event. 

Carter ranks as the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2017 class and joins his close friend, Gary Trent, who ranks No. 12 overall, and four-star guard Alex O'Connell to make up Duke's current recruiting class. 

Duke's three-man class now ranks as the No. 4 recruiting class in the country.
