The percentage of potential college athletes playing multiple sports has consistently decreased over the years but there are still a handful of prospects without off-seasons.
One such prospect comes from Compton (Calif.) Dominguez in Sean Harlston, who is the starting point guard on the basketball team, the starting quarterback on the football team and also runs track.
The 2019 prospect is also well on his way in basketball. He’s got good size and length, tremendous lateral quickness and the handle and vision to create for others or get to the basket.
“I see the floor well, I pass, I’m athletic and knock down my jumpers,” Harlston said. “I always try to get my teammates involved. “I need to get better at shooting and always making the right play when I get into the paint.”
It’s early into Harlston’s recruitment in both basketball and football but he doesn’t plan on giving either up any time soon.
“In college I want to try and play both,” Harlston said. “Whatever my coaches allow me to do, I’ll do it.”
