One player who is seeing his stock rise this season is Michael Okauru. At Brewster Academy the North Carolina native has continued to improve his game, and now more colleges are coming in to see him and his recruitment is expanding.
“I feel like I have been bringing a lot of energy, getting to the rim, and getting my teammates involved,” said Okauru of the season.
On the recruiting trail Okauru continues to pick up interest, with several schools showing more attention.
“Right now Georgia Tech offered, and I am hearing from Georgia, Florida, UNLV, Oklahoma State, and I just talked to Colorado,” noted Okauru.
About the Georgia Tech offer, he said, “It was definitely a blessing. They want myself and Curtis Haywood and it is the ACC so it is a good thing.”
Also Georgia Tech’s main rival, Georgia, is after him hard, and while Okauru doesn’t know a ton about the Bulldogs right now, he is continuing to listen to Mark Fox and his staff.
“I don’t much about them, but it is the SEC and that is a great conference,” said Okauru. “They say they need a guard and that I would be able to come in and play.”
For now Okauru doesn’t have a ton of things set with visits or even a firm plan in place for a decision.
“I definitely want to make some official visits but none are planned,” said Okauru. “As far as a decision I am waiting to see the right fit whenever that ends up being.”
