Jalen Green

2020 Fresno wing Jalen Green holds six early offers

Standout freshman Jalen Green held six offers before the beginning of his high school career. The shooting guard discusses his game and recruitment.

One of the top prospects nationally in the 2020 class comes from Fresno (Calif.) San Joaquin Memorial in Jalen Green.

The 6-foot-3, 160-pound shooting guard has long arms, impressive athleticism, can shoot, handle, slash, create and defend.

“I’m getting to the rack and playing defense,” Green said. “I just need to keep improving my shooting.”

Before his first high school game, Green already picked up offers from Arizona, Creighton, Florida State, Fresno State, UNLV and USC.

“It’s exciting,” Green said. “Now that I’ve finally played my first game, hopefully there will be more to come.”

Of the offers Green has already received, he says one especially stood out.

“Arizona was big,” he said. “They don’t usually offer freshmen so it was shocking to get the offer. That’s one of my dream schools. Sean Miller is a cool coach and I’ve talked to him. I like their whole program.”

Green is hoping for another school to get involved in his recruitment.

“I like Kentucky too because of all the players who are one and done,” Green said. “They have pros come out of there.”

Despite the early attention, Green is more worried with his game than his recruitment.

“Right now I just want to get better and work on my all-around game,” he said.
