Grunfeld Picks Stanford
Mike Montgomery has his first commitment of the season. Swingman Dan Grunfeld, the son of Milwaukee Bucks General Manager Ernie Grunfeld, committed to Stanford over Wisconsin and some Ivy League interest.
"He committed on Sunday but he just formally announced the decision today," Grunfeld's high school coach Paul Hepp said. "He went out there and really enjoyed everything. The academic portion was huge to him as well."
Grunfeld enjoyed an excellent run on the summer circuit with Friends of Hoop. Last year as a junior, he averaged 17 points and 6 rebounds for Hepp's squad. As far as Stanford recruiting goes, look for the Cardinal to continue to seek help at the point guard position as the period continues. They are also actively recruiting big man Matt Haryasz, among others.
