Recruiting steady for Top 50 Arizona SF Tevian Jones

Tevian Jones is ranked 50th in Scout's 2018 class. The four-star small forward breaks down his recruitment.

One of the top small forwards on the West Coast in 2018 is Tevian Jones, a 6-foot-6, 185-pound wing from Chandler (Ariz.).

Scout’s 50th ranked prospect in the class, Jones is a versatile athlete who can attack the basket and hit three-pointers.

He’s pleased with the way his junior year has started.

“It’s coming along well,” Jones said. “I think I’m building up on both offense and defense. I want to keep getting better at all aspects of my game.”

Jones, who holds offers from Grand Canyon, San Diego State and USC, says he’s starting to get to know some of the coaching staffs recruiting him better.

“I’ve built good relationships with the Arizona, UCLA and San Diego State coaches,” Jones said, before breaking down what he likes about each of them.

Arizona: “They play with a lot of structure and I like how they get into the offense fast in transition. The last visit I took was an unofficial visit to U of A and I liked everything.”

UCLA: “I like how they run up and down the court and the flow of their game. I like how they play up and down.”

San Diego State: “I watched them play against GCU the other day and I like how they run in transition.”

The four-star prospect doesn’t plan on making a decision anytime soon.

“I’m not trying to rush anything; I want to weigh my options,” he said.
