One of the emerging prospects at the Tarkanian Classic was 2019 post player Isaac Johnson.
Johnson, of American Fork (Utah) High, has good size at 6-foot-10, but he’s also mobile and runs end-to-end well, plus has impressive tools on the offensive end. Johnson flashed impressive hands and tremendous touch around the basket.
“[I’m a] combo,” Johnson said. “Go inside and outside and just help the team with rebounds and just hustle.”
With his size and skill, it’s no surprise that Utah’s Larry Krystkowiak was among the coaches watching him on Friday. Johnson said attention on the recruiting front has started to pick up.
Did he see this type of recruiting interest coming this early?
“Well yeah, since 7th grade my parents have told me that I’m a special type of kid with a special body so they said that to just be ready for the stuff that comes,” he said.
Well, Johnson appears ready and the attention that he's garnered now most certainly won't be the last.
