Isaac Okoro shined at the Tournament of Champions Classic

MARIETTA, Ga - Sophomore wing Isaac Okoro shined at the Tournament of Champions delivering a game winning bucket as time expired for his team.

Four-star class of 2019 forward Isaac Okoro had a big showing at the Tournament of Champions Classic. Okoro with his team down one hit a game winner at the buzzer, and continued what has been a very strong sophomore season.

“It has been a great season,” said Okoro. “I stared off strong and averaged a lot of points, so it has been a good season.”

He continued, “I am working hard to improve my jump shot and playing better perimeter defense.”

On the recruiting side of things Okoro continues to be a popular target. Both Florida State and Georgia Tech were present for his game on Thursday, and he continues to pull in offers.

“My offers like Rutgers, Georgia Tech, Auburn, and Florida State have all been staying in consistent contact,” said Okoro.

About Rutgers, Okoro said, “They were my first offer and they have talked to me and my coaches a lot. I know they are trying to re-build the program and think I could be a big piece.”

Georgia Tech is close to home for Okoro, and the Yellow Jackets are working hard to keep Okoro in-state.

“I have a real good relationship with them,” said Okoro of Georgia Tech. “They come to see me play as much as they can, and stay in touch with my coaches and thigs like that.”

When it comes to Auburn, Okoro said, “I like how the coaching staff is. Also I have visited the school a lot of times, and it is a very nice campus.”

At this point Okoro hasn’t seen Florida State yet, but he likes the coaches in Tallahassee.

“I haven’t gotten to visit there yet, but I like the coaches and they have been by to visit me a lot,” noted Okoro.

For now Okoro is focused on his season and improving his game, but there is no doubt that he will continue to add interest from coaches as we get into the spring and summer.
