Emmitt Williams showed off his athleticism and motor at the Cancer Research Classic

WHEELING, WV - Four-star power forward Emmitt Williams has a high energy game, and college coaches are take major notice of how he plays.

There aren’t many players who are more athletic or play with a higher motor than class of 2018 power forward Emmitt Williams. The Florida native is shining at IMG Academy, and continues to pull in major college interest.

At the Cancer Research Classic, Williams was his typical dominant self with points and rebounds. He controlled things down low, and showed everything that he brings to the court.


“The season is going great,” said Williams. “I love playing with this team. I am excited, and I always am ready to play our next game.”

He continued, “I’ve been working on everything so far. I want to work on my skills on being a one through a five. I might never play the point, but you never know so you might as well work on things.”

On the recruiting trail things are just getting started for Williams, but he is hearing from a lot of college coaches.

“I’ve heard from a lot of programs,” said Williams. "Baylor, Texas A&M, Florida, Florida State, so a lot of schools have been texting me.”

It is just now at the beginning stages of the recruiting process for Williams who plans to go through his spring and summer uncommitted playing with Each 1 Teach 1 in the EYBL.

About what he looks for in schools, Williams said, “I look at how I would fit in and how I would play, and how their point guards play. I do a lot of research to make sure I would fit in with their system and how their team likes to play.”
