Bonnies On The Board In 2004

St. Bonaventure is on the board in 2003. Apparently, Bonnies head coach Anthony Solomon made good on a promise to come back for Isaiah Carson.

"I had met Coach Solomon back when I was a sophomore in high school," Springfield (OH) South point guard Isaiah Carson said. "He was at Notre Dame and he told me that he'd be back to get me. He came back for me."

Carson committed to St. Bonaventure on Labor Day and becomes the first recruit for Solomon and his staff in the Class of 2004. Last season, Carson averaged 18 points as a junior.

"I had visited up there and plus [assistant] Jason Gee is from the Springfield area where I'm from. Me and my parents sat down and agreed that there couldn't be situation for me. I don't believe there's a better situation for me than St. Bonaventure."

Carson was sold. Now, he's looking forward to a senior season with little pressure on him and he can go out and play his game. "That's a big thing. You can just go out and play and have fun and no worries. Just go out there have fun and be yourself."

And one more thing: Carson isn't a bad recruiter either so immediately he's going to start working for the Bonnies. "A lot of people don't know about St. Bonaventure. It's big time basketball. I want people to just look into it. It's not really out there but I'd like to sell people on it so they can see what I'm seeing."
