Goldwire Thinking Spring Signing

LeeMire Goldwire isn't a household name. However, he did perform admirably at the AAU Nationals in late July. He's decided that the fall period isn't for him.

LeeMire Goldwire can play. The 6-0 point guard from Palm Beach (FL) Dwyer has talent. He's quick, very athletic and strong. He's a good looking prospect but he's still under the radar.

"I play a lot but in my area, it's a football area," Goldwire said. "It's kind of hard [to get media attention] unless you're just averaging 30 or something."

Last season, Goldwire averaged 14 points a game. Goldwire said that he has offers from Charlotte, South Florida, UTEP, SMU, VCU and UNC-Wilmington. However, he's in no rush to decide.

"I was thinking about signing early but I'm just going to sign late. I'm happy with the schools but I'm not really satisfied. Hopefully at the end of the season I'll be able to go bigger to like an SEC school."

South Florida and Charlotte are coming down for in-homes. The South Florida Heat AAU standout is close on the core but short on the standardized test score.

He's certainly one to watch throughout the season.
