Brice Prather May Wait

Brice Prather, a 6-7 power forward from Villa Park, is an effective low post player and a terrific student. He has Patriot and Ivy League schools pursuing him, but he may wait until spring before making a decision...

Brice Prather, 6-7 PF Villa Park (Calif.) High, has a list that includes Army, UC Davis, Chico St., Cornell, Colgate and Yale.

We spoke with him recently and he told us that he may not sign in the fall. "I'm leaning to signing in the spring," Brice said.

Brice has had an in-home meeting with Army, which he said went very well. He will visit West Point on October 13th.

UC Davis will be in for a visit today and Chico St. is scheduled for October 8th. Cornell, Colgate and Yale are all in the process of setting up in-homes.

This past summer, Brice took an unofficial trip to Yale. We asked for his impressions and he said, "It was beautiful -- unbelievable."

Brice told us that location will not be a factor in his decision. "It doesn't matter," he said. "Academics will be huge. I also want to go to a place where I can make an impact on the team and a place where I fit in."

He's also not looking at immediate playing time as a primary consideration. "I'm perfectly fine with sitting a year," Brice said. "I want to go somewhere where I can improve and help the team."
