One of the top scorers on the West Coast in 2017 is 6-foot-5, 215-pound Tacoma (Wash.) Foss wing Roberto Gittens.
A strong wing with wide shoulders, long arms, plus athleticism, the ability to score from all three levels who can also rebound and pass, Gittens continues to improve his stock.
“I got a lot stronger and smarter since last year,” Gittens said. “I got in better shape and lost a lot of weight. I need to keep getting in better shape.”
Gittens committed to Boise State in the fall but didn’t sign a Letter of Intent, which has led to some questions about how solid he was with the Broncos.
The four-star prospect says he continues to stick with his commitment.
“I’m still committed there and that’s what I plan on doing for right now,” Gittens said.
The work which Boise State’s staff has put into the recruitment has been important to Gittens.
“They have shown me that they’ve wanted me and that’s what I like about it,” he said. “You don’t want to go somewhere that kind of likes you; Boise made me a priority.”
Gittens is happy with the way he would be used in Boise.
“They’re telling me they need a guy like me who is fearless and a scorer,” Gittens said.
