Shamiel Stevenson commits to Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh added their fifth pledge of the 2017 recruiting class on Tuesday.

2017 recruit Shamiel Stevenson verbally committed to Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

"[It's] a great fit," Kenold Knight, of UPlay Canada, told Scout. "He loves the school and coaches. He really enjoyed his visit. The new coaching staff is getting there and having to build their own thing so he's happy about that and wants to be a part of it."

Stevenson is a 6-foot-6, strongly built forward out of Pheonix (Ariz.) Hillcrest Prep. A three-star recruit, Stevenson will bring physical play and toughness to the Panthers, while having the ability to play either forward position.

Pittsburgh now had a five-man recruiting class that also consists of Aaron Thompson, Terrell Brown, Marcus Carr and Junior College standout Jared Wilson-Frame.
